Woodstock Recreation League provides an opportunity for the youth of Virginia Beach to play in a safe, supportive, and happy environment, emphasizing the values of sportsmanship among all teams and athletes that participate. 

The basketball season runs in the winter from December  to March. 

Practices are 1-2 days per week with one hour sessions per practice. Practice days are based upon availability of assigned coaches. 

Games typically start the second week of January and are held at College Park on Fridays and Saturdays for Boys 10 and under. 10 and under girls games are held at either College Park or Birdneck Elementary schools. 

City league for boys and girls (ages 10 and older) game locations are TBD, 

Coaches, whether Head or Assistant are always needed and always welcomed.  No prior knowledge of basketball is needed although it is always helpful.   

WRL is a volunteer driven organization. No one is PAID to coach or run the league. 

Woodstock Recreation League offers leagues from the ages of 6-14.  September 30th  is the "As of" date to determine a players age. We do allow some exceptions for younger players or for players whose skill level allows them to "Play Up".  No player under 10 may play up.
